How To Root Moto G (2014) On Android 5.0 Lollipop Firmware

Motorola Moto G (2014) is a second generation Android Smartphone which comes with 5 inch LCD capacitive Touchscreen display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device is also powered by 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor along with Li-Ion 2070 mAh Non-removable battery and it runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat Operating System.

If you have updated this device to the latest version of Android (Lollipop 5.0 firmware) and would like to root it for installing rooted apps or for installing Custom ROM firmware, then follow the given below procedure. Here, I have given a working tutorial to root Motorola Moto G (2014) on Android 5.0 Lollipop Firmware.

Prerequisites:

1. Before proceeding, you need to check all the drivers of Moto G properly installed in your computer.
2. Next, you have to create a complete backup of all data’s and stuffs in your smartphone by using appropriate apps.
3. Also, make sure that USB Debugging mode is enabling in your device by following path Settings->About Phone->Build Number (tap it on for few times) to enable Developer Options. Once done, then go back to Developer Option and enable USB Debugging by ticking the box next to it.
4. Ensure that battery backup of your device must be above 70% or more to carry out the following rooting process without any power issues.

Procedure To Root Moto G (2014) On Android 5.0 Lollipop Firmware:

1. To get started, you need to download the CF Root package for Moto G device from links given below to your computer.

2. Once downloaded, extract it into a folder. Now have to boot your smartphone into ADB mode. To do this, Press the Volume Up button + Power On button + Volume Down button simultaneously until it is active.
3. In ADB mode, you need to connect your device to the computer via Original USB cable and then run the CF Root executable which you have already extracted in your computer (at step 1).
4. Now, just follow the on-screen instruction to root your Moto G device. It will take up few minutes to complete the rooting process. Once rooted, your smartphone will be automatically reboot.
5. That’s it. You have successfully rooted your Moto G (2014) device on Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware. If you want to verify whether the device rooted or not, download “Root Checker” app on your device and verify the root status.
