How To Root Moto E Android Smartphone
Motorola Moto E is a low-budget android smartphone which comes with 4.3 inch TFT Capacitive Touchscreen display powered by Dual Core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 processor and the device runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat Operating system. This device also has a 5 mega pixel Camera and powerful non-removable Li-Ion battery.
If you are a user of Moto E smartphone and would like to root it to gain root access for installing Custom ROM firmware’s or for installing apps which supports rooted devices or for removing bloat wares, then follow the tutorial given below. Prerequisites:
- The following rooting procedure is a data loss process. So, you need to do a complete backup of data’s in your Smartphone by using appropriate applications.
- Next, you have to enable USB Debugging in your smartphone by visiting Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging (tick on the box) to enable it.
- Next, your smartphone bootloader must be unlocked. If it is not, then you need to unlock it by following the steps here. Instead of Android SDK use mfastboot.
- Make sure that battery backup of your Moto E smartphone is above 70% or more to carry out the following process.
- Make sure that you have USB Drivers of your smartphone is installed on your computer.
After finishing all above steps, you can move on to the main rooting tutorial.
Tutorial To Root Moto E Android Smartphone:
- To get started, you have to download TWRP Recovery image and SuperSU package to your computer. Once done, connect your device to the computer and then copy the downloaded files to the root folder in your smartphone.
- Now, disconnect your device from the computer. Next switch it and then pressVolume button and then Power button at same time until download mode is active. Now connect your device to the computer again using the original USB Data cable.
- Next, head over to the directory where you have extracted the mfastboot package and then press “Win + R”, then “cmd” and then press enter key to open the command prompt window.
- In the command prompt window, you have to enter the following command,
Fastboot boot recovery recovery.img
- Now you will the recovery screen. Choose install option and then select theSuperSU zip file that you have placed in the device (at step 1).
- Now, just follow the on-screen instructions to install the app on your device and then reboot your smartphone in the normal mode.
Note: If your smartphone gets in to the boot loop mode, then you have to switch off your Moto E smartphone and then repeat the update process from the start. You can remove the battery from your device battery or long press the power button to switch off your smartphone while in download mode.
